Beastars Season 3 Overview
The highly anticipated conclusion of BEASTARS is set to unfold in a two-part final season, with Part 1 premiering on December 5. Beloved characters from the first two seasons will also return, promising a dramatic and emotional finale.
Set in a world where carnivores and herbivores coexist, BEASTARS delves into complex themes through its richly drawn ensemble of young beasts navigating instinct, identity, and societal divides. Adapted from Paru Itagaki’s award-winning manga, the series has sold over 10 million copies worldwide and remains a standout in the Shonen Champion Comics lineup published by Akita Shoten.
Since its debut in 2019, the anime, produced by the acclaimed CG animation studio Orange, has earned international praise for its innovative storytelling and visual style. Directed by Shinichi Matsumi with a screenplay by Nanami Higuchi, the series continues to explore profound themes such as discrimination, love, vulnerability, and hope. The ending theme song for the final season, Feel Like This by YU-KA (Polydor Records), adds another layer of emotional resonance to this anthropomorphic drama.

Beastars Season 3 Review
In the final season, Legoshi is not bound within the school boundaries as he has opted to leave school and face society head-on. This is to be expected after he had to consume the leg of his friend Louis, the charismatic dear. And even though the statement from the victim himself saved Legoshi from serious punishment, his dream of marrying Haru and having a family might never come true.
However, romance and relationships are not the primary angle of this season. We are shown how the dynamic between herbivores and carnivores gets far more twisted outside the gates of school. In the outer world, both of these sections are way more wary of each other and embrace segregation readily for their own betterment. This kind of attitude stays constant because of the continued threat some carnivores pose towards their vegetarian counterparts.
Apart from that, in the centre of the plot, we have a new kind of drug in the black market that only intensifies the beastly tendencies that endanger the balance of society. But, when, on the one hand, we have a psychopathic villain who wants to destroy the fragile peace in this already crumbling society, we also have a lone hero who’s a firm believer in justice and the current BEASTAR.
This season dives deep into many things, like the unknown past of Legoshi and why his personality got shaped into a carnivore who aims to live in unison with every species. His guilt for being born as a predator, his struggles to find his identity, and his acceptance towards his animalistic instincts are something that Legoshi still struggles with. Not only him, we see a similar kind of change in Louis, who is also fumbling with keeping himself away from the business of carnivores.
The first half of the season sets up the tone for the finale, introducing new characters and letting us know about the stakes. However, things take a flight from the second half as we are thrust into a world of conspiracies, rejection and mystery. Romance develops very slowly in this part, and the consequence of a love affair between herbivores and carnivores also gets addressed in detail.
Verdict
I definitely enjoyed this a lot, and the cliffhanging conclusion left me with more questions than answers, as a good ending should. It makes you anticipate the second part and forces you to mull over the incidents that you have witnessed.
My only complaint will be the unsavoury CGI animation that this franchise is famous for. Apart from that, even though this is not a masterpiece, it is a pretty entertaining show that explores the struggles of a world that feels similar to our own, touching on themes like prejudice, identity, etc.
