In the seventh episode of Barry Season 4, tensions escalate as Hank’s repeated attempts to kill Fuches prove unsuccessful. Frustrated with his failures, Hank devises a new plan to eliminate him by enlisting Fuches’ help. They decide to kidnap Gene, hoping to use him as bait to lure Berkman into their trap.

Meanwhile, Gene finds himself at a crossroads when he receives surprising news from his agent. Apparently, the renowned actor Daniel Day-Lewis has expressed interest in portraying Gene in a movie. This revelation causes Gene to reconsider his decision to kill off his character in his script. The opportunity for Day-Lewis to play him ignites a newfound excitement and passion within Gene.

Sally, filled with panic, flies to Los Angeles accompanied by John. In her distress, Sally reaches out to Gene for support and guidance. Gene advises her to wait for him at his house. Little do they know that Hank’s men have already arrived, altering their plans. Instead of kidnapping Gene, they decide to abduct Sally and John, intending to use them as leverage against Barry.

In a parallel storyline, Berkman finds himself subjected to psychological torture orchestrated by Jim. During this ordeal, Barry is pushed to his limits and forced to confront his darkest secrets. He learns that Jim is aware of the 250,000 dollars that Berkman had given to Gene. The revelation leaves Barry vulnerable and exposed.

In a surprising twist, the agent who initially informed Gene about Daniel Day-Lewis turns out to be an actor, part of a larger scheme. He leads Gene into a trap orchestrated by Jim, Leo, and the district attorney. These individuals are now convinced that Gene was involved with the Chechens and aided Berkman in Janice’s murder as a means to halt her investigation.

Additionally, they accuse Gene of intentionally shooting Leo. The situation escalates as Gene finds himself in a precarious position, with mounting accusations against him.

However, Berkman manages to escape Jim’s garage just in time and receives a call from Hank. Hank delivers a chilling demand, insisting that Barry must meet him if he wants to save Sally and John from harm. In the end, Berkman faces the daunting task of outsmarting Hank and rescuing his loved ones.
