Asur Season 2 Ending Explained

If you have watched the series, you must know that a lot happened in season 2. We finally learn who Shubh is and his deadly plan to kill hundreds of people through bombings. Shubh has placed bombs at a conference full of scientists and Mukti Ghat. Initially, he had given Anant, an 11-year-old boy who DJ presented as Shubh’s Kalki, a choice to kill people. Anant was asked to push a button – one would kill the believers and one button targets the non-believers. But DJ doesn’t let this happen.

Paul and his team go to the conference to find the bomb. DJ and Anant are at Mukti Ghat for Anant’s coronation. Hundreds of people are present to witness the same. Even the conference has hundreds of guests. Nikhil and Nusrat head to Bhydur, a small village, to get hold of Shubh. However, Shubh is already gone. But Nikhil and Nusrat discover the tech and computers the Asur had used to carry out his crimes.

Initially, Shubh gives people at Mukti Ghat a chance to save themselves. He tells them to kill Anant, and he will spare their lives. But Anant manages to calm down all the scared souls. DJ finds out that the bomb that Shubh has used to kill people is a Sonic bomb. DJ and Nikhil, who are at different places, again think and work together and successfully save lives. After stopping the mishap from happening, DJ spots Shubh at the Mukti Ghat.

DJ shoots Shubh with his gun, leaving him injured. DJ doesn’t want to free Shubh by killing him. The Asur is arrested. At the end of the series, Nikhil Nair signs the divorce papers and gives them to Naina. He then meets Shubh in prison. Nikhil uses poison on his hand and kills Shubh after the duo shake hands. So yes, Shubh dies in Asur Season 2. But is the threat over? Sadly, no.

Asur 2 ends on another cliffhanger. Before dying, Shubh tells Nikhil that just because they caught him doesn’t mean that thing. He tells Nikhil that there will always be someone else who will keep doing what he has been doing. According to him, the evil never goes away and keeps shifting places. Initially, it sounds like Shubh is just scaring Nikhil. But the last few minutes come as a shocker.

In the end, DJ goes back to meet Vrinda Shrivastav, an artist played by Barkha Bisht. Vrinda, a visually impaired woman, is one of the few people who survived the poisoning at Trilok Dham in Haridwar. She knew Shubh and helped DJ with crucial information in the earlier episodes. When DJ visits her place, she is missing. But her paintings leave him shocked.

The paintings made by Vrinda are also of Kali and darkness, similar to what we saw in Rasool’s book. The sequence hints that she might be the next danger that DJ and Nikhil might face.
