Archie Comics Partners with Spotify for Comic Podcast Series

Archie Comics made its way to its readers back in 1941 and for 81 years, the comic series has gained love and popularity among people of all ages. Featuring fictional teenagers Archie Andrews, Jughead Jones, Betty Cooper, Veronica Lodge, Reggie Mantle, Sabrina Spellman, and Josie and the Pussycats.

Archie Comics is set in the small town of Riverdale and seems like it’s finally time to expand from hardcover to podcasts to increase the reach of the long-running series.

The announcement comes after Marvel announced a partnership with SiriusXM last year. It led to the creation of a number of audio series with podcast platform Stitcher. Following the lead is Archie Comic Universe X Spotify!

The collaboration of Archie with Spotify will be suitable for all everyone, it will be inclusive of “all-ages content as well as content aimed at older audiences.”

The podcast and audio space is so vibrant, and Spotify is, hands down, the industry leader there,” Archie Comics CEO and Publisher Jon Goldwater said in a statement. Bringing the iconic Archie library of characters to Spotify is a perfect match, and we’re so excited to partner with them to explore new, compelling stories featuring our characters. It’s an amazing frontier and we can’t wait to unveil what we’ve been working on.

Archie Comics is already in partnership with companies like Scholastic, ComiXology, and Little Bee Books. The popularity of the comics had already made its characters debut on television – CW’s Riverdale and Katy Keene, as well as Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, which will wrap with its fourth season later this year.
