Aoashi Episode 5 Review- Family And Support!

aoashi episode 5- aoi worried about mothers letter

With one well-coordinated goal at the very last moment of the game in the last episode, most of the players who had come for the tryouts gave it all. Rejoicing in the fact they did not back down and kept trying till the end of the game, the players were all enthusiastic. Aoi returns home to Ehime prefecture and has to wait weeks before the results arrive. His friends are all by his side, keeping him company in the anxious wait for the results. Aoi seems content, satisfied with the fact he gave his best, and whatever the results might be, they will not deter him from playing soccer in the future.

Hana seems to also be worried about him, even sending him diet plans she charted out. On the other hand, Aoi’s mother might be feeling conflicted. Well, her young son will need to move to Tokyo if he clears the tryouts! She is the first one to see the results- yes, he is in! As his friends rejoice around Aoi, she is sentimental.

Aoashi Episode 5 is pretty emotional. Aoi’s financial conditions growing up were poor, as evident from the previous episodes. He does not lose his heart and keeps on dreaming big. But as a parent, his mother must have felt sorry for not being able to give him the best of everything. She supported his dreams as much as she could though, even buying expensive cleats. And now that she has to face the reality that her son will leave her side, it must be terrifying.

Unlike most sports anime, Ao Ashi showcases the true reality of the financial problems athletes might face in their journey to go pro. Playing sports is one of the common paths pro-athletes choose in their early days to come out of poverty. This makes this soccer anime relatable and makes it stand out from other animes of a similar genre.

aoashi episode 5- aois mother also in aois imagination

In contrast to its predecessor episodes, where the prevalent atmosphere was nail-biting-stress, Ao Ashi Episode 5 is an episode just for goodbyes. Aoi and his family are deciding on Aoi’s future. His classmates and family will have to see him leave. Their impact on Aoi and their interrelationships are beautifully portrayed in this episode. In several sports anime, most scenes revolve around the main characters and their teammates and opponents. Aoashi representing Aoi’s family pulls in more character for him even before the actual journey has begun, and we are already rooting for him for all his dreams and aspirations.

The direction of the episode was phenomenal. The talks, the reminiscing, and the goodbyes- all the scenes were done justice. The comedic bits thrown in perfectly balances the episode otherwise filled with tears. Aoashi Episode 5 focused a lot on Aoi’s mother, coincidentally just in time for Mother’s Day! With emotions delivered perfectly, we can move on to the next chapter in Aoi’s journey!

Aoashi Episode 5 was a tear-jerking episode. Filled with realisations and goodbyes, the seasons have changed. Spring has arrived, and Aoi’s journey has finally begun. This episode allowed Aoi to have time to say his goodbyes to his friends and families, showing us their dynamics and relations. We know all too well now how he was supported by the people around him, and we cannot wait to see what he does next!
