With a fight ensuing on the first day of the high school between the Team B members of the Tokyo City Esperion FC club, will this bad air carry onto their actual match? Or will the internal team conflict be resolved? Let’s find out more about this in Aoashi Episode 11 Review.

Aoashi Episode 11 Overview

aoashi episode 11- suprised ohtomo

Aoashi, also referred to as Ao Ashi, is a sports anime based on a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yūgo Kobayashi. It has been serialized in Shogakukan’s seinen manga magazine Weekly Big Comic Spirits since January 2015. It is being produced by Production I.G, who have great hits such as Guilty Crown, Psycho-Pass, Kuroko’s Basketball, Haikyuu!!, Psycho-Pass 3 and Moriarty the Patriot.

Ao Ashi follows the story of a third-year middle school student Ashito Aoi living in Ehime prefecture, a backwater town in Japan. Ashito seems to possess talent but has a very straightforward personality. Because of this, other players dislike playing with him. Finally, he was able to join an average team where he felt accepted and came into the eyes of the coach of the youth team, Tatsuya Fukuya. Aoashi proceeds to showcase his journey from here.

The anime is being directed by Akira Satou, who worked on previous projects such as Deadman Wonderland and Release the Spyce, with scripts written by Masahiro Yokotani, and Nakatake and Yamaguchi also serving as chief animation directors. This episode of the show is also known as Ao Ashi Episode 11.

Aoashi Episode 11 Review- Soccer Is A Team Game

aoashi episode 11- the four in trouble

The previous episode of Aoashi showed the new Team B on a break before the commencement of their high school. Not being able to figure out his mistake, Aoi was getting frustrated and ready to practice soccer even on his off days, when players are advised to rest. Luckily, Hana comes to his rescue, making him relax a bit and taking him to see the new school he would be attending. But sadly, their interaction ends up in a fight, with Hana being mad and running away. Will Aoi make up to her? Or will Ohtomo’s ridiculous prediction be true?

We also saw the members of Team B get into a physical altercation in the previous episode of Ao Ashi on the first day of high school. This goes on to show the general distrust amongst the players, and their misplaced sense of ego of not being part of the tryouts. With the new game starting in Aoashi Episode 11, the younger players are advised by their seniors in the team to clear the air before the game, and not bring it out on the actual field. But with a score of 0-3 in the first half, we can easily understand that the senior’s advice was not heeded.

Ao Ashi Episode 11 focuses on Aoi still trying to understand his mistake. Though the visuals were a bit lackluster in this episode, it made up with a great storyline. The moment Aoi was finally able to grasp the missing concept was exhilarating. His facial expressions represented the panic and joy of finally understanding the “team” part of the soccer and his immediate following actions were equally satisfying and entertaining to watch. Especially the frames when the animation flows smoothly, allowing us viewers to understand his every eye moment.

Nozomi finally showed his ability to coach a team, and his interactions with his fellow were a character development for him. By now, we are aware that the actual game animations won’t be as great as one would hope for from Production I.G keeping in mind their history with sports anime, but the great character writing and the good story pulled Aoashi Episode 11 together and forward, accompanied by a steady OST. With Aoi, Kuroda, and Asari finally communicating, will they be able to turn the game around?
