Created by Bindu De Stoppani, the series stars Claudia Gusmano as Alice Bassi, Michele Rosiello as Davide Sardi, Lorenzo Adorni as Tio. The synopsis for Netflix’s An Astrological Guide for Broken Hearts Season 2 reads, “At first it seemed that Alice was one step away from living one of her beloved tales with a happy ending, but then she ended up with nothing to be happy about. Was Davide Sardi actually just a product of her imagination? And what will be of the show after what happened between them? Fortunately Alice isn’t alone to face the unsure future. Paola and Tio will always be at her side. And what about the stars? They can guide you… only if you ask them the right questions..”

Plot Summary
At the end of season 2, Alice is heartbroken to see Davide kissing a woman. The woman is Barbara, and Davide says that she’s been through a lot and he can’t leave her. Alice is shattered as she thought she finally found “the one”. Her personal life has taken a hit, but her professional life is going quite well. Alice’s show ‘Stars of Love’ has been doing very well and got great ratings. But she has to work with Davide on the show.
Will the two manage to keep their damaged equation aside and focus on work? Will Alice find love again and move on from Davide? Who’s Barbara, and why did she return all of a sudden in Davide’s life? There are many questions, and we find answers one-by-one in the 6 episodes.
An Astrological Guide for Broken Hearts Season 2 Review: Discussion
Netflix has kept the tonality of An Astrological Guide for Broken Hearts Season 2 peppy as season 1. Even though the characters are going through heartbreak, the colour palette is full of hope. That helps in saving the show from taking a distressing mode. Amid these colourful and flashy set-ups, two people in love deal with separation and uncertainty.

Despite a great professional life, Alice feels something is missing. She has a hard time seeing Davide with Barbara. She seeks help from Tio, but there’s only so much he can guide her. Alice depends too much on stars to seek answers. But Tio makes her realise that the stars can only guide her; decisions are something she has to make. Along with Alice, Tio and Paola are also going through issues in their life. So in season 2, Alice has to get it together and decide what’s best for her. So the makers have tried to balance the astrological aspect by not making everything about it.

Season 2 also takes us to Paris, which has love written all over. To interview a prominent personality, Alice and Davide have to go together. It’s interesting to see them act like just “colleagues” when their heart is full of love and yearning for each other. I enjoyed the entire Paris part, filled with beautiful locations and lovely moments between the leading characters.
Despite having some wonderful moments, the narrative lacked some depth in season 2. From episode 1 of the latest season till the Paris part, the show had rare meaningful scenes. The problems in Alice’s life seem very frivolous, and Davide is missing most of the time. So even if you root for the two to be together, it’s because of season 1 and Paris part. The last 3 episodes make the show worth every minute.

The music of An Astrological Guide for Broken Hearts Season 2 really helps in elevating some emotional and love scenes. It’s one department where the team didn’t go wrong at all. Actors Claudia Gusmano and Michele Rosiello look very good as Alice and Davide on screen. I wish we got more intense romantic scenes between our favourite couple.
An Astrological Guide for Broken Hearts Season 2 Review: Final Thoughts
Overall, An Astrological Guide for Broken Hearts Season 2 is here to tell us that the heart wants what it wants. Nothing helps calm the person down when it comes to heart’s desire. The characters in the show also have to make these choices. If one is up for a casual rom-com binge and loves astrology, they should watch the show. We also finally learn what Davide’s star sign is!
The show is now streaming on Netflix.
