One Mic Stand Season 2 is all about popular celebrities from different spheres trying their luck at stand-up comedy and making the live audiences crack up with their jokes and comical timings. Famous stand-up comedian and creator of One Mic Stand Season 2 gets five renowned celebrities under one roof to perform comedy for the first time. The comical debutants include head honcho of Dharma Productions and director Karan Johar, Bollywood sex bomb Sunny Leone, Author and writer Chetan Bhagat, Rapper Raftar, and Journalist and television news anchor Faye D’Souza.
Each of the celebrities is assigned with mentors to train them in delivering their hidden comical self. Niti Palta mentors Sunny Leone, Sumukhi Suresh mentors Karan Johar, Abish Mathew mentors Chetan Bhagat, Samay Raina mentors Raftar and Atul Khatri mentors Faye D’Souza.

Item girl Sunny Leone comes as a complete surprise on her first attempt at comedy and is quite impressive. She has a lot of punches to offer which are funny and amusing. Sunny’s theme was based on her past and present movie choices. She doesn’t shy away from making fun of her own self which is commendable.
Best-selling author and writer Chetan Bhagat chose Hindi as his language of conversation and hit the right spot with his comedy. The audiences were seen chuckling throughout his act but some of his jokes were cryptic and less adaptable to the regular crowd.

Director and producer Karan Johar is quite a funny personality and has those comical elements in him which are seen constantly in the TV shows he appears on. This feat was completely a cakewalk for him as he took a jibe at his own filmmaking skills and movies. His body language is very comfortable and manages to make the crowd chuckle at his punches.
TV anchor Faye D’Souza was also good at her comical timings and took a dig at her profession by saying that she never has attempted comedy but is a TV news anchor. Her jokes connected with the audience and built a nice rapport with them. As Faye is a bold TV anchor, performing in front of a live audience was not a new task for her and she came across as quite optimistic.
Bollywood rapper Raftar was not that funny when it came to cracking a punch or two. Though his body language was super stylish, his jokes could not give out the desired effect they had to. Just like other celebrities, Raftar, too, mocked and made jokes about his rap career which fell flat. His gags were complex and unfortunately humourless which could not wow the audience.

One Mic Stand Season 2: Final Verdict

One Mic Stand Season 2 is more interesting and entertaining than Season 1 because of its stellar celebrity debutants compared to the last season. The show has successfully managed to leverage its level one step ahead in this season. The comical geniuses and mentors are pretty good at their game and have mentored the newbie comedians brilliantly. The mastermind and the creator of the show, Sapan Verma, is, as usual, smooth and distinguished in his approach towards his comical timings and the participants. He bounces on the stage in each episode after the act is over and cracks a gag to retain the funny atmosphere among the crowd.
One Mic Stand Season 2 is a must-watch entertaining stand-up comedy show streaming now on Amazon Prime.
