Solo Leveling Season 2 Episode 10 Recap

This episode laid the groundwork for the highly anticipated Jeju Island arc, which is set to be a thrilling spectacle. It begins with a confrontation between hunters from Japan and South Korea, initially a friendly match but quickly escalating when Haein accidentally injures a Japanese hunter. Before tensions could rise further, Jinwoo steps in to defend her, catching the attention of Goto Ryuji, who immediately recognizes Jinwoo’s overwhelming strength. Intrigued, Ryuji challenges him to a duel, to which Jinwoo agrees, on the condition that Ryuji fights at full power.

What follows is an intense battle that reveals key insights. While Jinwoo clearly holds the upper hand, Ryuji proves to be a formidable adversary, even managing to leave a scratch on Jinwoo, something no one has done before. The animation during their clash is stunning, heightening the tension and making it clear that this is only the beginning of their rivalry.

Meanwhile, deep within the ant nest, the ant queen is preparing to give birth to the most powerful creature yet, the ant king. Set to become the season’s ultimate antagonist, he will be Jinwoo’s most dangerous foe so far. However, if there’s one thing we know, it’s that no enemy can truly stand in the way of our protagonist’s unstoppable strength.

The Jeju Island arc has started in full swing, and things are not looking good for the hunters. Some of the S-ranked hunters from Japan get massacred right away, while Chaein and others try to hunt the queen down. We also see some other Japanese hunters realizing how much of a bad situation they are in when they get an overwhelming stench. That’s exactly when the Ant king comes and massacres that party.

Back at the Queen’s den, she is guarded by innumerable amount of ant soldiers. Everyone in Chaein’s party uses full power because they cannot afford to hold back. Even Yoonho, who does not really like showcasing his true powers because of his appearance, is in his beast mode. After an intense battle, they finally managed to get the Queen down, but before they could kill her, she had already called for her son.

They have no idea what is coming for them as the Ant king, the real threat is still alive. In this episode, we finally meet the fearsome king who looks more menacing than anything else. The aura he releases completely overwhelms the S-ranked hunters, especially Chaein, who has an exceptional smelling capacity. This segment was one of the best moments of the entire episode, as we get to feel just how menacing the Ant king is.

One by one, we witness the S-ranked hunters fall and be completely dominated in a fight. However, we all know that there is one person who is going to be a nightmare for these ants.

This episode was really good, as we got to see other characters get the spotlight for once. However, obviously, they were not powerful enough to hold the Ant king. In the next episode, Jinwoo will come and he will handle all the issues, but still, the fact that there is literally no one left to challenge Jinwoo feels a bit redundant.
