Solo Leveling Season 2 Episode 7 Recap
Jinwoo’s newfound status has undeniably reshaped his world, though whether for better or worse remains uncertain. Now hailed as South Korea’s 10th S-rank hunter, he quickly becomes the centre of attention, even outshining a recently awakened actor who had hoped to use his hunter abilities to escape controversy.

However, even the hunter examination fails to categorize him definitively. It’s fascinating that he is classified as an assassin-type hunter, yet his ability to summon souls aligns him with mage-types as well.
His power is so immense that even veteran S-rank hunters like Yoonho and Jongin instantly recognize that he surpasses them. Despite their attempts to converse with him and persuade him to join their guilds, Jinwoo remains largely indifferent.

His primary focus is on clearing the demon castle dungeon as quickly as possible. At the same time, he takes precautions by deploying some of his summoned soldiers to safeguard the city and his sister in his absence. Jinwoo then starts his journey to reach the top floor of the demon castle dungeon.

Solo Leveling Season 2 Episode 8 Review and Recap

Jinwoo starts his fight with the mysterious soldier only to find that it was a demon girl all along. After realizing she is losing to him, Esil quickly drops her weapon and starts to negotiate a chance at survival in return for giving him all the permits for the floors. Jinwoo also gets some important information from her about their placement in the dungeon. Apparently, they get a different kind of command from the ice elves Jinwoo fought previously. Their order is to protect their current base at all costs.

In the real world, however, things are very dire as an ant demon has started to wreak havoc on a small island in Japan. Korea’s hunter association head thus commences the 4th Jeju island raid mission to stop the onslaught altogether. They also ask for assistance from a huge Japanese guild. A new face is introduced who can become an important character, as he is introduced as the guild master of the second strongest guild in Asia.
Jinwoo, with the help of Esil, finally manages to reach the top floor and comes face to face with Baran, the king of the demons and the strongest opponent he has ever faced yet. He goes all out in this fight with his many soldiers but still feels overwhelmed.

Their fight is one of the best of the series, and it is a visual spectacle that we witness here. Jinwoo visibly struggles at the beginning of the battle, almost dying at Baran’s hands. However, having multiple strong allies is a cheat skill that one cannot deny. This fight is definitely going to be a memorable one for both the audience and Jinwoo because topping this will be difficult.
Verdict

Today’s episode was great because it not only just portrayed Jinwoo, but also focused on important events that were happening outside of the demon castle dungeon. Things are moving forward with the Jeju island raid, because of which we see some more new faces. Apart from that, the animators went absolutely insane here while depicting Jinwoo’s fight.
