Shahmaran: All About the Upcoming Turkish Thriller Drama

The Turkish series Shahmaran aka Şahmaran, an adventurous plot packed with romance and thriller, is set to be released on Netflix. Directed by Umur Turagay, the series follows the story of Sahsu, who finds herself in Mar, a community where the legend of Sahmaran is practised. The series will consist of 8 episodes, each around 59 minutes. The series will be available in English, Turkish and other global languages. Moreover, the subtitles are also worked on for this particular series.

The synopsis reads, “Sahsu is determined to confront his grandfather, who left her mother years ago in Adana, where she went as a lecturer. On this journey, she finds himself in the middle of an unusual and mysterious community called Mar, descended from Sahmaran. Believing in the legend of Shahmaran, one of the greatest symbols of love and wisdom, the Mar race awaits the completion of the historical prophecy with the arrival of Sahsu. Nothing will be the same again when Sahsu and Maran cross paths.” The Shahmaran legend is pretty interesting. Will the series provide us with the full essence of it? Hopefully, yes.

Shahmaran Cast and Crew

The whole cast of the series includes Serenay Sarikaya, Burak Deniz, Mert Ramazan Demir, Ebru Özkan, Mustafa Ugurlu, Mahir Günsiray, Nil Sude Albayrak, Berfu Halisdemir and Mehmet Bilge Aslan. Suzan Güverte and the production companies Tims & B Productions and Netflix produce the series. The cinematography is done by Yon Thomas, and Hakan Ozer scores the music.

The editing Dogus Ozel, Beyzanur Atabek, Özkan Aydin, Ceren Badur, Murat Birkon, Selim Cetintas, Ahmet Erdil, Ipek Kirasi, Zeynep Kurman, Hüseyin Kurt, Hasan Alkan and Dilara Asci. Baris Demirdelen, Atilla Mentes, Burak Tas, Soner Unlu, Erman Zambak and Dogus Ozel do the series’ visual effects.

Shahmaran Trailer and Release Date

The trailer starts off showing Sahsu going on her way to meet her grandfather. We are also introduced to the male protagonist Maran (Burak Deniz) and the intimidation between them both. It is apparent that it’s a love story, but there’s a hint of something odd happening around Sahsu. We’ll find it when the series release. Here’s the official trailer to watch.
