8 Indian Supernatural Shows That are Ironically Funny: Naagin, Sasural Simar Ka, Nazar and More

Indian Supernatural Shows are a sight to behold due to their bizarre plotline that makes us say WTF! Anything and everything happens in those shows, from paranormal instances to outer worldly beings it is a perfect recipe to make you cringe. It often feels like watching a satire, but the creators are very serious about the storylines. Some sequences are so unbelievable that it is bound to make everyone laugh out loud.

Indian Supernatural Shows

Naagin

Produced by Ekta Kapoor under Balaji Telefilms, the supernatural fiction follows shape-shifting serpents called icchadhari naagins. The show is extremely popular among the masses but all for the wrong reasons. The ridiculousness of the plot and VFX manages to make one chuckle. Currently, it has been renewed for the sixth season on February 12, 2022, starring Tejasswi Prakash in the lead role.

Pyar Ki Ek Kahaani

Famously known as the Indian version of the Twilight Saga, it is totally a rip-off of the movies. However, it is far from anything like the movies, as both the plot and the special effects are a major letdown. From eccentric prosthetics to weird characters, the series was a complete disaster.

Sasural Simar Ka

What started with being a TV show showcasing the different relationship dynamics existing in a joint family turned into a supernatural one so swiftly that the viewers were left shocked. Along with over-the-top dramatic scenes, the show will make you cringe and laugh at the same time.

Ye Kahan Aa Gaye Hum

Starring Karan Kundra in the lead role, the show follows a shapeshifting tiger. Superimposed tiger stripes on Karan are excruciatingly painful to witness more than the lousy script. It was one of the worst cases of visual effects in the history of cinema.

Zee Horror Show

It was one of the scariest shows on TV while growing up; however, upon looking back, we realise how stupid it was. Starting for the visuals to the stories full of loopholes, this series is indeed one of the worst ones ever to come out.

Nazar

Another thriller series that did not live up to expectations is this one. The story follows Mohana, a 250-year-old Daayan, who lives off of humans’ life force to stay young. It looked promising at first, but the poor VFX made it impossible for the viewers to like the show.

Fanaah

This show is the Indian adaptation of the series Vampire Diaries, which, yet again, was a terrible decision. Not just the VXF, but the script as well was horrible, along with the fake prosthetic fangs that made it even funnier. With poor execution and terrible visuals, this show is one of the worst out there.

Brahmarakshas

The story follows Raina, a young girl, goes to Kamalpura with her friend for a wedding. However, when the bride is killed by the Brahmarakshas, she marries Rishabh to exact revenge on the monster. The desperate attempt to create a thriller series failed miserably and became a laughing stock for the audience instead.
