2. Murder on the Orient Express (1974)

A billionaire is murdered on a train, the Orient Express. Celebrated detective Hercule Poirot, who is on board, is recruited to solve the case and find the culprit among the passengers. The movie is based on Agatha Christie’s famous novel of the same name. Starring Albert Finney and Lauren Bacall, Murder on the Orient Express one of the best murder mystery movies out there.

3. Death on the Nile (1978)

Death on the Nile is yet another suspenseful murder mystery movie based on Agatha Christie’s book of the same name. As Hercule Poirot enjoys a luxurious cruise down the River Nile, a newlywed heiress is found murdered on board, quickly turning Poirot’s glamorous vacation into a terrifying search for the murderer. Watch the movie to find out whether he will be able to catch the culprit before the ship reaches the end of its journey. The screenplay, however, differs slightly from the book, deleting several characters.

4. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011)

Directed by David Fincher, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is a movie about a journalist, Mikael Blomkvist, who hires Lisbeth Salander, a computer hacker, to solve the mystery of a woman who has been missing for forty years. The two, however, discover more than they bargained for. It is an adaptation of Stieg Larsson’s literary blockbuster The Millennium Trilogy, which have altogether sold 50 million copies in 46 countries and is a worldwide phenomenon. The movie is brutal yet captivating till the very end, with a mind-blowing performance by Rooney Mara.

5. Zodiac (2007)

Yet another masterpiece directed by David Fincher, Zodiac is a quiet, dialogue-driven thriller that delivers scene after scene filled with gut-wrenching anxiety. In the late 1960s/early 1970s, Robert Graysmith, a San Francisco cartoonist, becomes an amateur detective obsessed with tracking down the Zodiac Killer, an unidentified individual, whose killing spree terrorizes Northern California. Robert makes good use of his puzzle-solving abilities to get closer to the criminal. 6. Mirage (2018)

A space-time continuum glitch allows Vera to save a boy’s life 25 years earlier. It is one of the best murder mystery movies starring Adriana Ugarte, Chino Darín, and Javier Gutiérrez.
